(25 July 2023, Jakarta) -- Philippine choral powerhouses Don Bosco and the Far Eastern University of the Philippines fielded their respective choral groups to compete at the 2nd Asia Choral Grand Prix happening as part of the 12th Bali International Choir Festival being held in Bali, Indonesia from 25-29 July 2023.

Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin visited  Denpasar, Bali to lend moral support to the “Boscorale” under the baton of Conductor Mr. Alvin Paulin and the FEU Chorale under the guidance of Conductor Mr. Carl Angelo Tangco. The two choral groups join four other ensembles from Indonesia, Malaysia, Spain and Taiwan.

The 2nd Asia Choral Grand Prix is a competition among champions of the four international choral festivals in the region – the Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival, the Bali International Choir Festival, Malaysia’s Choral Eisteddfod and the Singapore International Choral Festival.

A total of five (5) choral groups from the Philippines are participating in the 12th Bali International Choir Festival: the Dasmarinas (Cavite) Chamber Singers, De La Salle Choral (Bacolod City), FCU Choral (Roxas, Capiz), Himig Sanghaya Chorale (San Pedro, Laguna), and the Marbel Youth Choir (Koronadal City) while Cagayan de Oro’s Ms. Zoreen Alon will represent the Philippines in the solo category.
