(08 January 2025, Jakarta) - Officials and Filipino students from Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten paid a courtesy visit to the Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, Mr. Gonaranao B. Musor, to promote academic exchanges between UIN and Philippine universities.
University Rector Prof. Dr. H. Wawan Wahyuddin, M.Pd. conveyed UIN’s interest to collaborate with universities in the Philippines by offering scholarships to Filipino students, organizing student and teacher exchange programs, conducting joint research, and other activities to strengthen education cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia.
UIN also introduced to CDA Musor the six (6) Filipino students who are enrolled in the various academic degree programs of the university. UIN expressed the hope that more Filipino students will be enticed to enroll in their programs. The Filipino students were also informed to not hesitate in reaching out to the Embassy in case of consular emergencies and problems.
CDA Musor welcomed UIN’s interest to explore education cooperation with its Philippine counterparts, which could form part of the ongoing celebration of the 75th anniversary of Philippines-Indonesia diplomatic relations. He also looks forward to visiting UIN’s campus in Banten, Indonesia to deliver a presentation on Philippine culture and PH-ID relations.
