(30 January 2025, Jakarta) – Chargé d’Affaires Gonaranao B. Musor paid a courtesy call on Ms. Ani Nigeriawati, Director for Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KEMLU), to exchange insights on how the Philippines and Indonesia conduct public diplomacy, as well as to explore possible areas of collaboration, especially in line with the year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of Philippines-Indonesia diplomatic relations.

Both sides recognized the similarities in their public diplomacy programs, such as familiarization tours for the diplomatic corps, and campus caravans to engage with students. The Philippines and Indonesia are also keen on effectively harnessing their soft power assets, with the Philippines recently launching its Soft Power Roadmap last December as initiated by DFA.

CDA Musor also conveyed the Embassy’s appreciation for the support given by the KEMLU Directorate General for Information and Public Diplomacy that led to the successful holding of Himig Bersama-sama, a concert celebrating Philippines-Indonesia friendship, held last November 2024 at the Taman Ismail Marzuki.
