(11 April 2025, Jakarta) - The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, in cooperation with the Foreign Liaison’s Office and the Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, successfully hosted the Officers’ Turnover, Inauguration, and Leadership Training of the Filipino Student Community in Indonesia (FSCI), marking the official start of the organization's new leadership.
Newly elected FSCI officers led by its new President, Mr. Adzhar Amilhasan, took their oath and formally assumed their roles in a ceremony attended by Filipino students across Indonesia. A Leadership Training Session followed, aimed at equipping the officers with essential leadership and organizational skills.
The event featured resource persons, including Mr. Farid Ma’ruf from the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and Mr. Alvin Dewaras, Second Secretary and Foreign Liaison Officer of the Philippine Embassy. Their session provided valuable insights on leadership, community engagement, and intercultural collaboration.
Charge d’Affaires, a.i Gonaranao B. Musor of the Philippine Embassy, served as Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker on the topic, “The Role of Filipino Student Leaders in Indonesia”, emphasizing the importance of active student involvement in promoting Filipino values, academic excellence and community solidarity. In his remarks, CDA Musor reminded the student leaders of their unique position as cultural ambassadors and change makers: “Leadership is not just about the title or position you hold; it is about the ability to inspire others, to guide your peers with integrity, and to bring forward the best of Filipino culture - resilience, cooperation, and a deep sense of community rooted in pakikipagkapwa.”
The event was attended by thirty-two (32) Filipino students from East, West and Central Java, reflecting the growing strength and unity of the Filipino student community in Indonesia.
The Embassy continues to support initiatives that empower Filipino youth abroad and strengthen cultural diplomacy between the Philippines and Indonesia. END
