(05-06 June 2024, Jakarta) - Philippine Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin received a delegation from the Department of Tourism led by Head of Product and Market Development Ms. Gwen Batoon, PDOT representatives in Indonesia, some travel agencies and hotels including Skyland Travel and Tours and IM Hotel, among others, and Office of Senator Loren Legarda Supervising Legislative Staff Officer I Atty. Krisha Mae M. Laurente-Alib.

Ms. Batoon discussed DOT’s marketing strategies to reach its goal of 50,000 Indonesian tourism visitors to the Philippines by the end of the year and to promote Muslim friendly tourism to Muslim countries. The discussions also include the Embassy’s efforts to attract Indonesian students to come visit and even study in the Philippines.

On 06 June, the Ambassador attended the B2B networking seminar program organized by the DOT where seventy-nine (79) travel companies from Indonesia participated. The Ambassador also delivered her remarks, encouraging Indonesians to visit the Philippines to visit and experience the country’s unique culture and festivals.

Ambassador Jamoralin also impressed the Philippines as a regional hub that can connect Indonesians to the US, Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Phnom Penh, and Laos and revealed the reopening of the Davao to Manado flights as part of the Mindanao-North Sulawesi gateways under ASEAN Connectivity Master Plan.
