(18 August 2024, Jakarta) - Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Gina A. Jamoralin joined the opening ceremony of the exhibition, “Rempah & Kita (Spices and Stories): A Celebration of Culture and Tradition,” organized by Negeri Rempah Foundation at Hotel Borobudur in Jakarta.

The exhibition aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and biodiversity, focusing on the significance of spices in history and tradition. “Rempah & Kita” is a collaborative effort involving communities from various regions of Indonesia, united by a shared commitment to preserving Indonesia’s cultural heritage in the face of globalization.

The attendees were welcomed by an art performance, followed by the opening remarks delivered by Indonesia’s former Minister for Foreign Affairs and Negeri Rampah Foundation chairman, Mr. Hassan Wirajuda, Ph.D. The exhibition curator, Ms. Dewi Kumoratih, presented different spices commonly used and found in Indonesia.

The exhibition was also attended by the Ambassador of Singapore, a representative from the Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, and Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). END
