(20 August 2024, Jakarta) - Minister and Consul General Gonaranao B. Musor of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta met with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) to discuss the Philippine government’s initiative to promote investment and cooperation in the field of Islamic banking.
Consul General Musor invited BSI to participate in the upcoming Islamic Finance Roadshow that the Bagko Sentral Pilipinas (BSP) is co-organizing with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Islamic Finance Advisory Assurance Services this September in Jakarta. Consul General Musor also expressed the hope that Islamic banking will be among the areas of investment and cooperation as the Philippines and Indonesia celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year.
BSI is a state-owned Islamic bank in Indonesia that resulted from the merging of three state-owned shariah banks: BRIsyariah of Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Syariah Mandiri of Bank Mandiri, and BNI Syariah of Bank Negara Indonesia.
