(20 August 2024, Jakarta) - Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Gina A. Jamoralin received the Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla and his delegation on 20 August 2024 at the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta to discuss developments on energy cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia.

The Philippines and Indonesia signed an MOU on Energy Cooperation on 10 January 2024 at the sidelines of the Working Visit of President Joko Widodo to the Philippines. Secretary Lotilla expressed the hope that a Working Group would be immediately formed to ensure the effective implementation of the MOU. Among the topics discussed during the meeting between Ambassador Jamoralin and Secretary Lotilla were coconut oil as a sustainable aviation fuel, biofuel, and power connectivity.

Ambassador Jamoralin was accompanied by Consul General Gonaranao B. Musor and Trade Attache Jeremiah C. Reyes during the meeting, while Secretary Lotilla was joined by DOE Assistant Secretary and Concurrent Chief-of-Staff Ronald V. Conquilla. 

The Energy Secretary and his team were in Jakarta, Indonesia to represent the Philippines in the 2nd Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) Ministerial Meeting on 20-21 August 2024. END
