The Philippines will be hosting the 2024 Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) which will be held on 14 to 18 October 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila, Philippines. The APMCDRR 2024, hosted by the Republic of the Philippines in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), is the largest regional platform for promoting cooperation on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
This biennial conference is expected to gather around 3,000 delegates, including ministers, global leaders, practitioners, and representatives from the private sector, academe, and civil society. With the theme "Surge to 2030: Enhancing ambition in Asia-Pacific to accelerate disaster risk reduction," it will provide an important opportunity to review risk reduction efforts, share innovative solutions, and make actionable commitments to accelerate disaster risk reduction by 2030 in the Asia Pacific as the world's most disaster-prone region.
