(19-20 October 2024, Jakarta) –  President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., accompanied by First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos, arrived in Jakarta on the evening of 19 October to attend the inauguration of Indonesia's new President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on 20 October 2024.

President Marcos and the First Lady joined other world leaders in witnessing and congratulating President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran, at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta.

The attendance of President Marcos in President Prabowo’s inauguration serves as a testament to the longstanding partnership and friendship between the two countries, especially as they celebrate the 75th anniversary of their bilateral relations this year.

On 20 September, then President-elect Prabowo visited Manila and met with President Marcos at Malacañang Palace where they affirmed their vision to further strengthen ties between their nations. END.
