(21 October 2024, Jakarta) - Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin received at the Philippine Chancery sixty-two (62) military officer-students from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), participating in a study visit in Indonesia from 20 to 26 October 2024.

The fifty-one (51) officer-students of the AFP Command and General Staff Course (AFPCGSC) and eleven (11) military officer-students of the PCG Coast Guard Officer Senior Executive Course Class (CGOSEC) 03-2024, traveled to Indonesia to visit military schools, defense industry facilities, and maritime agencies. The week-long foreign academic travel aimed to broaden the military student-officers’ perspective on the military, socio-economic, political and cultural environment in Indonesia and to exchange best practices with their counterparts in Indonesia.  

During their courtesy call on Ambassador Jamoralin, military officers, MGen Marvin L. Licudine PA and Capt. Geoffrey T. Gervo PCG, highlighted the significance of their academic travel to Indonesia, an archipelagic state like the Philippines,  in learning best practices in addressing strategic challenges that can influence formulation or modification of defense and maritime law enforcement policies in the Philippines.

After the courtesy call on Ambassador Jamoralin, the Political Section of the Philippine Embassy conducted an institutional briefing for the visiting military officer-students on the role of  Philippine missions in Indonesia in strengthening cooperation between the Philippines and Indonesia.

The visiting officials also joined the weekly Flag Ceremony which is held every Monday at the Philippine Embassy grounds. END.
