(07 June 2023, Jakarta) – Ambassador-designate H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Indonesia visited Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi to introduce herself as the new Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia, and discuss possible cooperation projects between the Philippines and Indonesia.

During the call, Ambassador Jamoralin conveyed her enthusiasm to the successful partnerships by the two countries in the transportation sector, particularly with the Philippine National Railway (PNR) and Indonesian state-owned companies. Ambassador Jamoralin likewise shared her optimism for advancing more air and maritime connectivity between the two countries.

Minister Budi acknowledged the suggestions and committed to look into the matter. He also shared that the two countries may explore a cooperation on port development projects in Kalimantan and South Sulawesi area.

Ambassador Jamoralin impressed that the Philippines is keen on promoting Mindanao and BARMM for mobility projects, trade, and investments, as well as cooperation in EV ecosystem through the ASEAN and bilaterally.

Both parties expressed appreciation to the discussions made during the call, and looked forward to more engagements and in commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Indonesia in the year 2024. (END)
