(23 August 2023, Jakarta) – Philippine Finance Secretary Benjamin E. Diokno conducted an investment and financial briefing, which was hosted by and held at the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta. Secretary Diokno showcased the country’s competitive investment ecosystem to the diplomatic community, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), Philippine Business Club Indonesia (PBCI), and the Indonesian business community.
Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin gave the welcome remarks during the event, and highlighted areas like financial inclusiveness and digital financing, among others, which indicates a bright future for the Philippines and Indonesia to cooperate with each other, as both countries look forward to celebrating 75 years of bilateral relations next year.
Secretary Diokno emphasized the Philippines’ efforts in building a fertile business and investment ecosystem for private players, to help foster the development of high quality, modern, and sustainable infrastructure in the country. He also discussed the added prospects of the country with the Maharlika Investment Fund.
The Finance Secretary travelled to Jakarta, Indonesia, to represent the Philippines in the 10th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting from 24 to 25 August 2023.
