(13 December 2023, Jakarta) – Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin hosted a luncheon in honor of Minister Yasonna Laoly of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia at her official residence, The Balay Filipino.

In her toast remarks, the Ambassador expressed her appreciation of the Minister for being a true friend and ally of the Philippines. Minister Laoly was given the “Kaanib ng Bayan Award” in 2021 by former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in appreciation and recognition of the policies he set in place regarding immigration issues during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Kaanib ng Bayan” is an award conferred by the Government of the Philippines to individuals, including public officers, and organizations outside the Philippines over their significant or outstanding contributions to Philippine citizens or Filipino communities overseas.

The luncheon was likewise attended by the Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of ASEAN countries to Indonesia and other Embassies with Non-Resident Ambassadors to the Philippines. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia were also present.
