(21 April 2024, Jakarta) – The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia conducted a Town Hall Meeting with the Filipino Community in Indonesia on Sunday, 21 April 2024 at the Embassy Multi-Purpose Hall. The event was attended by leaders and representatives of various Filipino community organizations, Filipinos representing various skilled and technical professions, teachers, investors, and businessmen across Indonesia.

Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin delivered the welcome remarks and presented the Bagong Pilipinas campaign featuring the national programs and initiatives under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and encouraged the Filipino community in Indonesia to be partners of the government in working to uplift the lives of every Filipino under the Bagong Pilipinas.

Ambassador Jamoralin also gave an update on the Embassy’s program and activities including the Overseas Voters Registration, Consular Outreach Missions for 2024, Mapping/Registration of Filipinos in Indonesia, the Embassy’s Contingency and Communication Plan and the designation of FilCom Area Emergency Coordinators (FAEC) per region, and cultural activities in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Indonesia.

Representatives from the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) led by Atty. Eduard C. Ferrer, and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) led by Mr. Florencio Teves III, both based in Singapore, were also present during the event to provide briefings of their respective agencies and to extend services to our kababayans. A video message from visiting OFW Partylist Representative Congresswoman Marissa Del Mar-Magsino was also played. END
