(26 June 2024, Jakarta) - The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta joined the international community in commemorating the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAIT), or World Drug Day, which is celebrated annually on 26 June to affirm collective responsibility to act and cooperate towards a world free from drug abuse.
Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin delivered a video statement to support Indonesia’s initiative through the National Narcotics Board of Indonesia (BNN) to raise awareness on the global problem of drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
In line with this year’s theme, “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention,” Ambassador Jamoralin highlighted the Philippines’ commitment to the global campaign in implementing effective drug policies that are “rooted in science, research, full respect of human rights, compassion, and a deep understanding of the social, economic, and health implications of drug use.” END
