The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta joins the nation in commemorating the 128th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 30 December 2024.  The theme of this year’s commemoration is “Rizal sa Bagong Pilipinas: Buhay at Aral, Aming Nilalandas (Rizal in the New Philippines: Life and Teachings, as our Guide)”

The Embassy commemorated the anniversary with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony on 02 December 2024. Following the wreath-laying ceremony, Embassy personnel watched “Finding Rizal in a Time of Barriers”, a 2021 full-length documentary film that explores Dr. Rizal’s time in Europe.

The event honored the life and legacy of Dr. Rizal, whose unwavering commitment to justice, liberty, and national independence continues to inspire Filipinos worldwide.
