Visa-required foreign nationals residing in the Republic of Indonesia who wish to travel to the Philippines for a short visit may apply for a single-entry 9A temporary visitor's visa at the Consular Section of the Philippine Embassy, except nationals of the following countries with particular restrictions about the venue for filing applications under prevailing regulations:

The nationals of the countries mentioned above can only file or lodge their visa application at the Philippine Embassy/Consulate in the country of their origin or place of legal residence.
The required documents to be presented at the Consular Section of the Philippine Embassy is dependent upon the category of visa / purpose of travel to the Philippines, following prevailing visa rules and regulations. In all cases, the visa officer has the right to require additional documents not listed herein to establish facts and confirm information about the visa applicant and his/her purpose of travel.
IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO PURCHASE TRAVEL TICKETS BEFORE A VISA IS ISSUED.
Foreign nationals that travel frequently (two or more times in a year) to the Philippines may seek to obtain a multiple-entry temporary visitor's visa (valid for 6 months / 12 months). Please read the information on the additional requirements to file a multiple-entry visa application in the relevant section of this website.
IMPORTANT 1.) Submission of a visa application and payment for visa processing does not guarantee issuance. REMINDER Foreign tourists and temporary visitors with a 9(A) visa are not permitted to study, practice their profession or seek employment in the Philippines without appropriate clearance/Study Permit or Special Work Permit from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration. Foreigners who shall receive compensation from Philippine sources after having been admitted to the Philippines under a category 9(A) temporary visit visa need to coordinate with their Philippine office counterpart for the issuance of a Special Work Permit (SWP) pursuant to existing policies, rules and regulations of the Bureau of Immigration and other Philippine authorities. |
PROCEDURE
- Register the application in the visa portal https://www.visa.gov.ph/ [The visa portal is currently under maintenance. This F.A. Form 2 Non-Immigrant Visa Application may be used until further notice]
- Submit in person the printed application form together with the documentary requirements at the Embassy’s Consular Section.
Visa applications are received by the Consular Section everyday, except Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon WIB, on a first-come, first-served basis. Prior appointment is no longer required.
- After the application is filed and the corresponding visa fee is paid, visa applicants will be notified through email of the status of their visa application.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be able to present the basic requirements together with the following additional supporting documents, as necessary, and with English translation, if written in any other language.

BASIC
- Original passport and photocopy of its data page
The passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines. The passport must have at least four (4) blank pages for the visa and Philippine Immigration entry/exit stamps. - Visa application form
The application form should bear the original signature of the visa applicant (except minor children, whose applications will be signed by their parents/legal guardian). - 3.5cm x 4.5cm (passport-sized) colored photograph, preferably taken within the last six (6) months

Applicable fees for visa application, evaluation, and processing are non-refundable even if the visa is denied. Acceptance of fees does not guarantee visa issuance.

Restricted nationals are those whose countries are not included in the visa-free list of countries.
PROCESSING PERIOD
Status of the application for Temporary Visitor Visas (single-entry) are normally available after five (5) working days from the date of acceptance of the application and payment of applicable fees. The processing time may take longer, depending on the nationality of the visa applicant, the visa category being applied for, and/or the result of records verification in the Philippines, which needs a waiting period of at least 20 working days. Applications for multiple-entry visas should be filed at least two (2) months prior to the intended date of travel to the Philippines.
Applicants are strongly advised not to confirm/pay their flight tickets before a visa is issued. The Embassy will not expedite the processing of visas just to meet the applicant’s confirmed flight schedule. Visa is also not issued on the same day the application is received.
The Embassy has the prerogative to deny the visa application or to refuse rendering services to any foreign national who cannot comply with the requirements / procedures set forth by the Embassy and/or the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
RELEASING
The passport can be picked up by a representative, provided they present the original official receipt/claim stub, or signed authorization letter from the applicant if the authorized representative could not present the official receipt. Please visit the work schedule of the Embassy for the prescribed time of releasing of consular documents including passports with approved visas.

- Invitation letter from the company in the Philippines
The letter should include the reference person(s) in the Philippines and his/her contact details, the nature of the visit of the visa applicant, and further state to guarantee the foreign visitor’s compliance with Philippine laws and regulations. A copy of the ID of the signatory of the invitation letter should be attached. If the invitation is coming from a private entity, the letter should be notarized by a Philippine notary public. - Hotel accommodation or proof of lodging
- Proof of ties in the country of origin
If employed, endorsement letter from the applicant’s company.
Notarized letter from company/employer endorsing the visa applicant’s travel for business trip to the Philippines. The letter should also certify the visa applicant’s employment and indicate information of the visa applicant such as years of employment, salary/wages, nationality, and other relevant information of the visa applicant.
If business owner/self-employed, Certificate of Business Registration certified by local authorities (with English translation). - Proof of financial capacity
Visa applicants must show proof that they have the necessary financial resources to travel to the Philippines and return to their country of origin after their intended stay. As a conservative estimate, temporary visitors (non-tourists) must be able to present financial savings of at least US $1,000 or its equivalent in local currency for short-term stay not exceeding 30 days in the Philippines.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR TOURISM OR LEISURE VISITOR’S VISA

As a conservative estimate, temporary visitors going for tours, sightseeing and recreation must be able to present financial savings (if applicable) of at least US $2,000 or its equivalent in local currency, or about US $1,000 for non-tourists coming for short-term stay not exceeding 30 days in the Philippines.
The required minimum amount for financial capacity may change from time to time depending upon the assessment of the Philippine Embassy.

If self-employed / owns his or her own business, Certificate of Business Registration certified by local authorities (with English translation).
If retired / unemployed, Letter addressed to the Consul General explaining the travel to the Philippines, providing applicant's last held job/work, present source of finances, and undertaking to return to Indonesia upon completion of travel to the Philippines. - Itinerary
The travel itinerary should indicate the schedule of activities for the whole duration of stay in the Philippines. The itinerary shall include the place/s to be visited, date/time of visit, and the mode of transportation to and from the destination. - Hotel accommodation or proof of lodging
If intending to stay with a Philippine resident, a notarized letter from the Philippine resident stating the fact that the visa applicant will stay in his/her residence for the duration of visit, providing the complete address and contact information of the Philippine resident, plus a copy of his/her ID or Philippine passport. If the inviting person residing in the Philippines is a foreigner, the letter should include his/her proof of legal status/visa in the Philippines.
If intending to stay in a hotel / apartment / commercial housing facility, a copy of room reservation / email showing the dates of stay and address of the hotel / apartment / housing facility. - For minors not travelling with a parent/guardian, letter of permission from a parent/guardian

2. Proof of medical condition, such as medical abstract from the sending medical or wellness institution

- Endorsement letter from the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, Games and Amusement Board, or a national sporting association duly recognized by the PSC/POC/GAB (for athletes)
- Endorsement letter from the Local Government Unit where the venue of the event is located (for performers)
- Contract or agreement with the organizer, including promotional materials

- Documents relative to the purpose of visit
If the applicant is a foreign spouse of a Filipino citizen, submit the following: 1.) notarized invitation letter from the Filipino spouse; 2.) copy of ID or passport of the Filipino spouse; and 3.) original and photocopy of PSA marriage certificate.
If the applicant intends to study in the Philippines or will take up a non-degree course or short courses, and will secure a Special Student Permit (SSP) from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration upon arrival in the Philippines, submit the proof of enrolment issued by the school in the Philippines.
If the applicant intends to engage or render services outside of an employment arrangement (i.e. without employment contracts with PHL-based companies in exchange of compensation) for a maximum validity of six (6) months and will secure a Special Work Permit (SWP) from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration upon arrival in the Philippines, submit contract of service, notice of appointment or secondment or deployment or any equivalent document indicating duration of service issued by the company in the Philippines.
- Hotel accommodation or proof of lodging
The hotel accommodation or proof of lodging shall cover the entire duration of stay of the applicant in the Philippines. If staying with a Philippine resident, submit a notarized letter from the Philippine resident stating the fact that the visa applicant will stay in his/her residence for the duration of visit, providing the complete address and contact information of the Philippine resident plus a copy of his/her ID or Philippine passport. If thePhilippine resident is a foreign national, provide proof of legal status/visa in the Philippines.
