(11 May 2025, Lombok) - Charge d’Affaires Gonaranao B. Musor participated in the Indonesia Gastrodiplomacy Series: Diplomatic Tour Goes to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), which was organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KEMLU) on 08-11 May 2025.
The tour was a follow-up to the successful diplomatic tour organized by KEMLU on 27-30 June 2024, featuring East Nusa Tenggara, particularly Labuan Bajo.
This year’s gastrodiplomacy series specifically featured Lombok island, including Mandalika, a special economic zone for tourism in Central Lombok Regency, which is considered as one of the priority areas for tourism promotion by the Indonesian government
Aside from the Philippines, other countries that participated include Armenia, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Cuba, Jordan, Laos, Mauritania, Poland, Rwanda, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Zimbabwe, China, Fiji, Finland, Kuwait, Netherlands, South Korea, UAE, UK, and Ukraine.
The tour took the participating diplomats to various tourist spots in Lombok, such as the old city of Ampenan with its Dutch colonial heritage, State Museum of NTB, Bilebante Village in Central Lombok, and the Mandalika International Circuit, among others.
Aside from showcasing tourist attractions and the gastronomy of Lombok, the tour was also an opportunity for various countries to explore investment and cooperation opportunities with NTB. END
