The 14th conference of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission's Sub-Commission for the Western Pacific (IOC-WESTPAC-XIV) was hosted by the Republic of Indonesia at the headquarters of the Badan Riset dan Inovasi (BRIN) in Jakarta from 04-07 April 2023. A four-man delegation of scientists and marine science experts from Manila represented the Philippines in the discussions focusing on ocean science and sustainable development. Minister and Consul General Bryan B. Lao of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta sat at the first Senior Government Officials' Roundtable plenary representing the Philippines.
