The Philippine Ambassador-designate to Indonesia Gina A. Jamoralin welcomed the arrival of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos at the Komodo International Airport, Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.

Ambassador Jamoralin was joined by Philippine Permanent Representative to ASEAN Hjayceelyn M. Quintana and Indonesian Minister for Transportation (Kementerian Perhubungan Republik Indonesia), Mr. Budi Karya Sumadi, in welcoming the arrival of President Marcos Jr. and his official delegation.
The Indonesian Government rendered ceremonial honors at the tarmac of Komodo International Airport to officially welcome the President and his official delegation to Labuan Bajo.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his official delegation will be in Labuan Bajo to attend the 42nd ASEAN Summit and related activities hosted by Indonesia from 10-11 May 2023. The President’s participation in the 42nd ASEAN Summit aims to promote the Philippines’ interest in economic growth, protection of migrant workers, food and energy security, trade and investments and to enjoin fellow ASEAN members to address issues affecting the country and the region under the principle of ASEAN Centrality.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will also participate in bilateral meetings with leaders of Vietnam, Laos PDR, and Timor Leste to discuss issues concerning the Philippines' relations to the said countries.
This visit follows the President’s last State visit to Jakarta, Indonesia on 04-06 September 2022.
