(08 June 2023, Jakarta) –– The Philippine Coast Guard delegation to the ASEAN Coast Guard Summit 2023, led by Vice Admiral Admiral Ronnie Gil L. Gavan, Deputy Commandant for Administration, called on Ambassador-Designate Gina A. Jamoralin on 08 June 2023 at the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta.
Vice Admiral Gavan, joined by Commodore Algier D. Ricafrente, Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for International Affairs CG-5, and Ensign Mary Louise V. Labrador attended the ASEAN Coast Guard Forum 2023 at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, from 07-08 June 2023. Vice Consul Ihna Alyssa Marie O. Santos of the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta likewise attended the opening ceremony of the Forum which was led by Vice Admiral Dr. Aan Kurnia, Head of Indonesian Coast Guard (Bakamla RI), and H.E. Dr. Mahfud MD, the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security.
The ASEAN Coast Guard Forum 2023 was attended by representatives from the Coast Guard and maritime law enforcement agencies of Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, and the host country Indonesia.
Ambassador-Designate Jamoralin and Vice Admiral Gavan discussed possible cooperation between the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta and the Philippine Coast Guard for maritime law enforcement endeavors. (END)
