(27-30 June 2024, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara) - Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin and 22 other Ambassadors from ASEAN, Europe, South America and the Middle East joined the Indonesia Gastrodiplomacy Series: Diplomatic Tour - Trail Of Spices in East Nusa Tenggara from 27 to 30 June 2024.
The gastrodiplomacy tour is part of Indonesia’s Trade, Tourism and Investment (TTI) integrated promotion framework aimed at showcasing Indonesia’s regional potential in the fields of economic, tourism, culture and culinary. The primary objective of this tour is to enhance the trade, tourism and investment values of Labuan Bajo areas and East Nusa Tenggara.
Labuan Bajo, the capital of the West Manggarai Regency, is located in the Flores Island of East Nusa Tenggara Province in the eastern part of Indonesia. It is designated as a National Tourism Strategic Area (priority tourism destination) being promoted by the Indonesian government. Known for its natural beauty, it includes attractions like the Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The three-day tour was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KEMLU) in collaboration with East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Provincial Government, the West Manggarai Regency Government, the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority Implementing Agency (BPOLBF), and the InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).
