(11 July 2024, Bogor) – The 3rd Philippines-Indonesia Joint Consular Consultation Meeting (JCCM) was successfully convened on 11 July 2024 in Bogor City, Indonesia.

The Philippine Delegation was led by Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus S. Domingo. He was joined by representatives from various DFA Offices, including Office of Consular Affairs, Office of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs, Philippine Embassy in Jakarta (Jakarta PE), and the Philippine Consulate General in Manado (Manado PCG). Representatives from other Philippine government agencies including DOJ-Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT), DMW, DOLE, PRC, NSC, NICA, and PNP likewise participated in the said meeting.

Jakarta PE was represented by Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin, Minister and Consul General Gonaranao B. Musor, and Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ihna Alyssa Marie O. Santos.

In his opening remarks, Undersecretary Domingo emphasized that through the years, the Philippines and Indonesia continue to be strong ASEAN neighbors who have a unique relationship, and built their ties through geography, culture, kinship, and defense, among others.

The JCCM serves as a venue to discuss the Philippines and Indonesia’s shared interests affecting the two countries and their respective citizens, including Persons of Filipino and Indonesian Descent, visa and immigration matters, coordination between diplomatic offices, and legal matters, among others.

The 2nd JCCM was convened in 2018 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The PH and ID delegations agreed to hold the 4th JCCM in the Philippines at a mutually convenient date. END.
