(17-18 July 2024, Manila) Ambassador Nico Barito, Seychelles’ Special Envoy to Indonesia and ASEAN and founder of the Blue Institute, visited Manila and met with high-level Philippine government officials to explore potential collaboration with the Philippines in the field of marine resource conservation and blue economy.

During his visit in Manila, Ambassador Barito discussed Blue Initiative’s future capacity-building projects with DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus S. Domingo, PH Ambassador to Indonesia Gina A. Jamoralin, Director Winston Almeda, and the Chairman of the League of Provinces and Cities and the Union of Local Authorities in the Philippines (ULAP) Governor Dakila Carlo Cua.

Ambassador Barito strongly encouraged the Philippines, as a member state of the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security, to collaborate with the Blue Institute.
