(18 August 2024, Jakarta) - The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, represented by Consul General Gonaranao B. Musor, joined the 5th Anniversary Celebration of INDOFIL held on 18 August 2024 at Aroem Menteng, Jakarta Pusat. Consul General Musor was accompanied by Ms. Yvonne Andrea D. Gabon, Post’s Political Assistant and Attache.
Rukun Indonesia-Filipina, or INDOFIL for short, is an association of Filipino-Indonesian families that aims to foster a harmonious community of cross-cultural marriages and their children. Although originally formed in 1987, INDOFIL went through several revivals with the most recent in 2019. At present, there are around 100 Filipino-Indonesian families within and outside Jakarta, with the number expected to grow even more.
In a message he gave to TFC, who covered the event, Consul General Musor congratulated INDOFIL on its 5th anniversary and highlighted INDOFIL’s important role in fostering people-to-people linkages. “As the Philippines and Indonesia celebrate this year the 75th anniversary of the establishment of their relations, organizations such as INDOFIL are a testament that the ties that bind the two countries together will continue to be strong and robust.” END
