(26 September 2024, Jakarta) - A delegation from PH Red Cross, led by Secretary General, Dr. Gwendolyn T. Pang, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin.

During the call, Secretary General Pang shared the state of blood transfusion in the Philippines and emphasized how blood donations sustain the lives of patients in dire need of blood transfusions in the country.  Secretary General Pang also emphasized the need to break the social stigma of fear of donating blood and to promote to the general public the benefits of regular blood donation for the health of the donor and the blood recipients.

Ambassador Jamoralin and Secretary General Pang also discussed opportunities to enhance PH Red Cross’ facilities for the testing and storage of collected blood donations to ensure their good quality upon transfusion.

Ambassador Jamoralin expressed support for the advocacy and programs of the PH Red Cross to promote the health of the Filipino people.

Secretary General Pang and her delegation visited Indonesia to attend the Asia-Pacific Plasma Leaders’ Network Meeting 2024 last 25 September and the Abbott Transfusion Medicine 2024 Scientific Summit on 26 September. END.
