(17 April 2025, Jakarta) - In celebration of National Literature Month 2025, with the theme “Sikad Panitikan: Culture and Literature for Development,” Sentro Rizal Jakarta, through the Philippine Embassy, donated a selection of bilingual children’s books to the French School Jakarta (FSJ) during the school’s Multicultural Day held on 17 April 2025.
Representing the Philippine Embassy, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Glenn Joseph D. Teh personally handed over the books to FSJ’s Library Head, Ms. Amelie Gouyette, underscoring the Embassy’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and promoting literature and language to young, diverse audiences.
The event drew guests from various nationalities, who visited country booths showcasing global cultures. The Philippine booth was warmly received, offering a taste of Filipino hospitality through a display of Filipino cuisine and cultural materials. The Philippine booth was managed by Ms. Kristel Teh, Ms. Dyan Ando, and Ms. Patty Briones, while the food was prepared by Lafang.id and the Philippine snack food products were provided by Universal Robina Corporation (URC) Indonesia.
The Philippine Embassy extends its appreciation to the French School Jakarta for the opportunity to share the richness of Philippine culture, and looks forward to further collaboration in promoting cultural understanding through literature and arts. END
