(25 March 2022) – Third Secretary and Vice Consul Glenn Joseph Teh and Cultural Attaché Buenaflor Cruz represented the Philippine Embassy at the two-day activity in Makassar, South Sulawesi from 23-25 March 2022 dubbed "Ambassador Goes to Kampung KB" organized by the National Population and Family Planning Board of the Republic of Indonesia.
The event demonstrated and underscored the implementation of the Family Development, Population and Family Planning (Bangga Kencana) program of the Indonesian government and how it contributes to the development of Indonesian human resources. Further, the government's approach on family development emphasizes multi-sectoral development aiming to solve population issues and improve the population quality in a "village level."
The Philippines and Indonesia has a long-standing partnership in the field of family development, population, family planning and reproductive health under the framework of Memorandum of Agreement for South-South Cooperation between BBKN and the Philippine Population Commission.
The event was also attended by representatives from the embassies of Seychelles, Australia, the Netherlands, Canada, Mozambique, Japan, UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Indonesia and the World Health Organization (WHO) Indonesia.
