(06 Aug 2023) – House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez met the Filipino community in Indonesia today at a small community gathering organized by the Philippine Embassy. Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin delivered the welcome remarks and opened the program attended by approximately one hundred-fifty individuals including embassy staff, for the meet-and-greet event held at the ballroom of the Grand Hyatt hotel in Jakarta.

Filipinos representing various skilled and technical professions, teachers, investors, and businessmen characterize the community in Indonesia. Accompanied by their families, they trooped to the Grand Hyatt where Speaker Romualdez used the occasion to provide updates to the community about the legislative agenda of Congress as well as to inform those present about the Maharlika Investment Fund, among other passed bills in the current session of the House.

Entertainment and live music featured local talents --- Filipino music teachers from the Big Ben International Academy of Music, together with Ms. Venus Limpin-Hawkes, along with celebrity comedian/showbiz personality from Manila, Mr. Wacky Kiray.

Speaker Ferdinand Marting G. Romualdez is in Jakarta as Head of the Philippine Delegation to the on-going 44th General Assembly of AIPA (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly). The Speaker was joined by Representatives Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza, Glona G. Labadlabad, Maria Rachel J. Arenas, Mario Vittorio A. Mariño, Geraldine B. Roman, Francisco B. Benitez, Princess Rihan M> Sakaluran, Joseph Gilbert F. Violago, Jose Manuel F. Alba, John Tracy F. Cagas, Peter B. Miguel, together with former Deputy House Speaker Rose Marie J. Arenas and SecGen. Reginald S. Velasco.
