(20 December 2023, Jakarta) – To celebrate Christmas 2023 and express appreciation for Embassy partners who continue to collaborate and support Embassy projects and events, H.E. Ambassador Gina A. Jamoralin, hosted a dinner buffet with the Filipino community and Indonesian friends in Jakarta held on 20 December 2023 at the Ambassador’s residence (Balay Filipino) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In her welcome remarks, Amb. Jamoralin acknowledged the important role of the Filipino community and companies in Indonesia in carrying out the President’s mandate in enhancing the Philippine’s presence in Indonesia. The Ambassador also emphasized that the year 2024 will be even bigger for Filipinos in Indonesia as it will be a milestone year featuring the 75th Anniversary of Philippines-Indonesia bilateral relations and encouraged the Filipino community and companies to support and collaborate in this endeavour.
Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ihna Alyssa Marie O. Santos also announced the launching of the online registration portal for Filipinos in Indonesia for information, dissemination and emergency purposes as well as the 2024 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO).
Permanent Representative of the Philippines to the ASEAN H.E. Hjayceelyn M. Quintana, Filipino community leaders and members, representatives of Philippine companies in Indonesia, and Indonesian friends – medical doctors who studied in the Philippines were present in the event.
OFW Party List Representative, Hon. Marissa Del Mar Magsino and her family also visited and graced the event. Congresswoman Magsino gave a Christmas message and acknowledged the professionalism and hard work of overseas Filipinos in Indonesia. END
