(12 to 15 February 2024, Jakarta) – Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Gina Jamoralin, along with other representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Jakarta, attended Indonesia’s Election Visit Program (IEVP) organized by the Indonesian General Elections Committee (Komisi Pemilihan Umum or KPU) on 12 to 15 February 2024. Electoral bodies, civil society organizations and media from various countries were also invited during the program.

The four-day program intends to give an overview and first-hand observations to attendees on the election procedures of Indonesia. The key highlight of the event was the opportunity to visit the Polling Stations and witness and observe the voting process during the actual election day on 14 February 2024. Ambassador Jamoralin’s delegation group visited the Polling Stations in Kapuk Muria in North Jakarta, Tulodong in South Jakarta and Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia in Depok.

The 2024 General Elections will mark Indonesia’s fifth elections since the country’s democratic transition in the late 1990s, electing the country’s next President, Vice President, members of the People’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat or DPR), members of the House of Regional Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Daerah or DPD), and members of the Provincial/ Regency/ City Regional House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah or DPRD). Indonesia’s total number of registered voters for this elections is 204,807,222.
