(04 September 2024, Jakarta) - Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Gina A. Jamoralin received a courtesy call from the newly arrived Defense and Armed Forces Attaché of the Philippines, Philippine Marine Col. Emerson M. Delos Santos. Col. Delos Santos succeeded Philippine Army Col. Emmanuel A. Canilla after a successful three-year tour of duty.
Col. Delos Santos is a seasoned Marine officer with vast field and garrison experience since he was called to active duty on 01 February 2000. His previous key assignments include the Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Intelligence, U2 of Western Command, the Chief of Staff of 2nd Marine Brigade, and the Commanding Officer of Marine Battalion Landing Team-9.
He is a recipient of various military awards and decorations including the Distinguished Service Star, Military Achievement Medal, Bronze Cross, Silver Cross, and Military Merit Medal for gallantry and meritorious achievements.
During the State Visit to Indonesia of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. in September 2022, the Philippines and Indonesia signed the Agreement on Cooperative Activities in the Field of Defense and Security, reflecting the strong defense cooperation between the two countries through the years. END
