Day of the Seafarers 2023

The Department of Foreign Affairs, expresses its appreciation for the important contributions of seafarers, in particular our Filipino seafarers, to the continuing flow of commerce and trade in our globalized economy and to sustainable development, on this the Day of the Seafarers 2023. 

Since the declaration of the 25th of June as the Day of the Seafarer, done in Manila in 2010, the Philippine Government has consistently given recognition and honor to the seafarers for their invaluable contributions to the maritime industry and for their strong commitment to protecting the marine environment.

PHL Embassy Commemorates 125th Independence Day with Filipino Community

12 June 2023 – Philippine Ambassador-designate to Indonesia, H.E. Gina A. Jamoralin led the Embassy Flag Raising Ceremony commemorating the 125^th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence. The theme for the celebration, “Kalayaan 2023: Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” was highlighted during the event. The celebration also featured the Philippine Meistersingers, who led the singing of the Philippine national anthem. The award-winning and world-class choir likewise performed the songs, Ako ay Pilipino, Bagbagto, and Kalesa to enliven the event.

Deputy Permanent Representative to ASEAN, Ms. Elizabeth Te, Philippine Consul General in Manado, Ms. Lolita Capco, the Filipino community leaders and members, and Philippine companies in Indonesia, participated in the celebration.

A Filipino breakfast consisting of tocilog, tapsilog, longsilog, pansit, pandesal, biko, and puto were served and enjoyed by the guests.
