(10 Oct 2022) -- Chargé d' Affaires ad interim Bryan B. Lao receives H.E. Dr. Thomas Loidl, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Indonesia at the chancery. The two diplomats exchanged views on Philippines-Austria interests and friendly ties, current international affairs, as well as regional developments in Europe and the Asia Pacific.

On 05 October 2022, Philippine and Indonesian officials witnessed the simultaneous signing of the Principles and Guidelines for Continental Shelf Delimitation between the Philippines and Indonesia.

As a follow up to the 1st Special Meeting of the Joint Technical Working Group on Maritime and Ocean Concerns for the Delimitation of the Continental Shelf Boundary held on July 2022, the two largest archipelagos in the world signed the document that will guide and lay the foundation for the delimitation of the continental shelf boundary between both countries.

(Above) The Principles and Guidelines were signed during a virtual ceremony led by Assistant Secretary Maria Angela A. Ponce of the Maritime and Ocean Affairs Office of the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Ambassador Andreano Erwin, Director for Legal Affairs and Territorial Treaties of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

(05 Oct 2022, Jakarta) -- The Board of Foreign Service Examinations (BFSE) of the Department of Foreign Affairs announces the conduct of the 2023 Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Examinations. Interested applicants may submit their applications to the Philippine Embassy located in Jalan Imam Bonjol No.8, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat 10310 from 13 Oct 2022 until 1700H of 18 Nov 2022.

The Qualifying Test will be held on 05 Feb 2023 at a venue to be announced later through the DFA-BFSE website and social media platforms of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Lao (rightmost) attends the capacity building workshop to raise awareness and build capacities of Southeast Asian cities on low-carbon and climate-resilient initiatives and practices organized by the Environment Agency of the Jakarta Capital City Government in collaboration with the United Cities and Local Governments Asia Pacific (UCLG ASPAC).

 

(28 Sep 2022) -- Various city government representatives from countries in Southeast Asia gathered at the Hotel Aryaduta in Menteng and joined various stakeholders from multiple sectors of society, private business, and non-government organizations in discussions and experience-sharing in the field of city development planning focusing on climate and the environment.
