(20 Oct 2022) -- The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta joined twenty-seven other diplomatic missions participating in the 53rd Charity Bazaar organized by the Women’s International Club (WIC) Jakarta at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel today.

Bazaar patrons were treated to a myriad display of Filipiniana items, accessories, clothes, jewellery, trinkets, and native delicacies like turon, puto, and biko. Philippine food products and snacks from Oishi were among the visitors’ favourites, and together with Philippine dried mangoes from Luzon and Cebu, were among the first items to sell out at the Philippine booth.

(18 Oct 2022) – The Philippine Embassy served as the venue for a policy dialogue between Filipino organization leaders and OFW Party List Rep. Marissa ‘del Mar’ Magsino who visited Indonesia for consultation meetings with Filipino workers and expats, and for calls on select Indonesian government officials. Congresswoman Magsino briefed the attendees as well on her current programs and accomplishments since assuming office.

(13 Oct 2022) Minister and Consul General Bryan B. Lao receives a framed painting from community leader Ms. Connie Nartates. The donation of the 50cm. x 60cm. acrylic on canvass artwork painted by Ms. Nartates herself coincides with the celebration of October as "Museum and Galleries Month" meant to arouse national consciousness and pride in Filipino culture and heritage.

(10 Oct 2022) -- The Filipino community in Indonesia is invited to a free film screening of the 2013 drama, "Sonata" starring Cherrie Gil, Charito Ferrer-Motus, and Chino Jalandoni, on Saturday, 15 October 2022, 9:00 A.M. at the BINUS University campus in Jl. Jalur Sutera Barat Kav. 21, Alam Sutera, Tangerang.

The story revolves around a woman whose whole life (as an opera star) is her art, "but when she loses it she goes into a self-exile, only to be, hopefully, reinvigorated by a young boy daring to bring it all back." Written by Wango Gallaga. Directed by Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes.

This film screening is a collaboration between the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Sentro Rizal Jakarta, and BINUS University.
